Derwent Runners offers regular Couch to 5K courses for those completely new to running, as well as those who need encouragement to get running again after injury or, well, just life getting in the way.
Our next course will start on Tuesday 13th September 2022, and will run for 9 weeks until Tuesday 8th November. Each session will start at 6:45pm at the Rugby Club.
We charge £20 for the 9 week course – this goes towards the cost of training new run leaders, as well as giving you social membership of the club up till the end of March 2023. 2022/23 club members only pay £10.

To give you an idea of what the course will be like, take a look at the NHS programme link below. Of course, you CAN do this course on your own and at a time that suits you. What we offer is a GROUP experience, and the structure and encouragement to achieve something TOGETHER. Each course has its own WhatsApp group to enable everyone to keep up to date with each week’s run as well as to organise ‘homework’ runs during the week. Often, it’s not the running that’s the problem, it’s just getting out of your front door – we try to provide the motivation to do that.
