Our next Couch to 5k course starts of Tuesday 19th September. The course runs for 8 Tuesdays at 6:00 pm. The aim is to get everyone from whatever their starting point to running a continuous 5k, at whatever speed, by the end of the 8 weeks. We get a wide variety of people coming along, from those with absolutely no running/sporting/exercise experience, to others who are trying to get back into running after a break.
The course is run by experienced qualified (volunteer) run leaders from our club who will make sure that everyone is looked after and nobody is left behind. The first couple of weeks are very steady with a lot more walking than running – over the weeks the balance changes, ending up with just running.
Each week there will be suggested ‘homework’ for you to do away from the group – there is also usually an optional Sunday morning run.
Most people say that they really enjoy the supportive nature of the group, with everyone helping everyone else.
