C25K, is a fantastic program that’s been designed to get just about anyone from the couch to running 5 kilometers or 30 minutes in just 9 weeks.
Its secret is that it’s a gentle introduction to getting the body moving, starting off alternating between walking and running small distances, and slowly building up until after 8 weeks, you’re ready to run 5 kilometers or 30 minutes non stop.
What makes a Derwent Runners C25K different is we will continue to support you to bridge the gap between 5k and the 4 mile club runs.

I never thought I’d be able to run any sort of distance and nervously joined the couch25k. Running in a group with the support of Derwent Runners made it so much more enjoyable. I have discovered a love of running and am now aiming to enter a 10k this summer and become an official Derwent Runner. Apr 1, 2016
I did the couch to 5km. Thoroughly enjoyed it, got my fitness and stamina back and it’s improving weekly, lost a bit of weight from it too, and the best of it is, I’ve carried it on to the Tuesday night 4 mile group which I’m hoping to continue.
